‘Golden Bachelor’ Jeweler Neil Lane Recalls Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s Early Romance md18

The Golden Bachelor’s famed jeweler, Neil Lane, didn’t want to see Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s relationship come to an end.

In an interview with the Daily Mail published on Wednesday, November 19, Lane, 64 — who provides the engagement ring for each season of the hit reality TV show — shared his take on the former couple.

“When I met them … they were joyful and happy. I did the ring with him in Costa Rica, he [has] never been happier,” Lane reflected. “I filmed the wedding bands afterwards at my house with them, they were never happier.”

“I wish they would have stayed together. It’s not easy finding love at certain ages. And I think they were a remarkable couple,” he added. “It opened up the fact that you can be 60 or whatever, and be dating and be in love and be excited.”

Lane also noted that while he sees Turner, 74, “now and then,” he is not sure what happened to the engagement ring.

“Once I do the ring… and time goes by, I don’t see that ring again. I don’t even know what happens to the ring,” he revealed. “You know, my part in that is over. I mean, things don’t work out then, yes, you know, right away.”

“But this has been quite some time,” Lane continued. “They got married, that ring is not in my orbit anymore.”

As Star previously reported, Turner and Nist found love on the dating show in 2023 and tied the knot in a live ABC televised special in January 2024. However, in April of that year, the husband-and-wife duo announced they were getting divorced, and things turned bitter between them.

Earlier this month, Turner — who got engaged to girlfriend Lana Sutton in October — released his memoir Golden Years: What I’ve Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV, where he discussed his and Nist’s relationship.
