Before eliminating four more women, Golden Bachelor Mel Owens was once again roasted for his comments about younger women.
Golden Bachelor fans have been fuming that one contestant is on “the wrong show,” but she still isn’t having as tough a time as lead Mel Owens, who is still being roasted for past comments as he continues eliminating women from his season.
Since being announced, the season two lead has been clouded with controversy, specifically after he made comments on a podcast about preferring to be with younger women and not wanting women of a certain age cast.
And as he is also plagued with reports he has been far more “difficult” on the set than his predecessor, Gerry Turner, fans aren’t letting him forget his mistake.
The latest round of comments roasting him for the past remarks came as he embarked on the third week of his journey on the show, taking several women on a group date and Debbie on a one-on-one.
At the end of the night, he was forced to send four different women home.
In the end, he chose to send Terri, Amy, Monica B., and Monica P. all home.
However, before doing so, he found himself once again being roasted for his comments, including by the women themselves during the group date, who were asked to roast him with the help of comedian Jared Freid.
Several of the women made it clear that while he apologized for the remarks early on, he wasn’t entirely off the hook for them, as most of them roasted him for them.
“You’re like a classic car. You’re strong, you’re sexy, and you don’t go over 60,” Monica B said. “And yeah, we’ve heard what you said on that podcast. But don’t worry, we all know you’ve never been great at recovering a fumble.”
“You sound like you always have something in your through. I don’t know, is it maybe because you put your foot in your mouth too much?” Robin joked.
“Roses are red, violets are blue. I want all of the women to love me, but especially you,” Nicolle said. “And you. And you. But, can I check your IDs first?”
In the end, Nicolle’s roast made the most impact, securing her the one-on-one dinner with Mel, and a rose.
The Golden Bachelor airs Wednesdays on ABC.
