There’s a potential new spinoff show in the works for ABC’s The Rookie!
The series would follow “a male cop who is stepping into a new phase of life in his second act,” Deadline reports. It’s also from the OG show’s creator Alexi Hawley.
Nathan Fillion‘s character, John Nolan, kicked off the original series by becoming a police officer later in life and earning the title of the oldest rookie to be working in Los Angeles.
This isn’t the first spinoff in The Rookie universe. There was also The Rookie: Feds, which was canceled after only one season.
The Rookie season 7 is set to debut next month after being off the air for months. Unfortunately, one cast member is exiting the show.
Be sure to tune in to The Rookie on January 7 on ABC, and catch up on old episodes on Hulu.
