Gordon Ramsay made grilled cheese on Aston Martin Valkyrie

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay used the engine of an Aston Martin Valkyrie to make a grilled cheese sandwich.

The 57-year-old told his social media followers he intended to make a ‘grilled cheese like no other’ and I think it’s fair to say he hit that brief.

In the clip, which Ramsay uploaded to TikTok last year, the chef says he wanted a shot at redemption after being ‘absolutely pummeled’ over an earlier grilled cheese sandwich he showcased on social media.

Ramsay promises a grilled cheese ‘like no other’ . Gordon Ramsay makes grilled cheese on Aston Martin.

Walking towards the camera at a race track, Ramsay says: “Now, last time I made a grilled cheese was in Tasmania and you guys absolutely pummeled me. I took it on the chin, I’ve got thick skin.

“So I’d like to redeem myself and give you a grilled cheese like no other.

“But this time I have an oven that is slightly more powerful – it comes in the shape of something unique. I think it’s the sexiest oven you’ve ever seen in your entire life.

“It’s a V12. It is a 1,200 horsepower engine, 6.2 liter. And I’m going to show you how grill cheese like no freaking other.” Fair enough.

The camera then cuts to a couple of bits of toast lying on some tin foil on a plate, which the chef then loads up with two types of cheese – I’m not a connoisseur of cheese, so the best I can tell you is that one is yellow and the other is orange.

Does the Valkyrie do a decent job?
With the Aston Martin purring away, Ramsay wraps his sandwich in the tinfoil and pops the whole thing on the engine.

Oh and don’t worry – as Ramsay quite rightly points out – the engine is as clean as a whistle.

He then closes over the hood of the car, a bit like he’s using a panini press, but unlike someone using a panini press, he then hops in, puts on his seatbelt, and takes the car for a, very fast, spin around the track.

With a lap complete, he pulls over, and grabs the now thoroughly grilled sandwich from the engine before tucking in and taking a bite.

It’s hard to tell if the sandwich is cooked to chef Ramsay’s usual high standards but he looks pretty pleased with himself.

This is not car-lover Ramsay’s first spin in an Aston Martin; as he is actually the proud owner of his own exceptionally rare Aston Martin.
