Is Gordon Ramsay the world’s best chef? There’s merit in the argument, but you can certainly declare the MasterChef (US) presenter as the world’s screamiest. Also undisputed is that Gordon Ramsay is a name and face recognised around the globe as a culinary superstar.
Gordon joins other food luminaries like Guy Savoy and Mario Batali at the Marina Bay Sands, opening his own outlet, Bread Street Kitchen in March 2015. The cafe will offer all-day dining at a price “that’s not expensive, not cheap — but certainly value for money”, said the chef at a media event Monday, 22 September.
Also part of the event was an impromptu, MasterChef-style cooking challenge (prepare eggs three ways — poached, soft-boiled, omelette — in 10 minutes) that had four men competing to earn a kitchen internship in Ramsay’s Singapore restaurant. The winner with the best skills (and hopefully the best ears) was 21-year-old Koh Han Jie, who trained at ITE College West.
