Gordon Ramsay’s wife Tana gives update on his ‘horrendous’ bike accident and ‘huge’ bruise
Tana Ramsay has revealed she couldn’t believe her husband Gordon Ramsay had managed to avoid breaking any bones after suffering a “really bad” bike accident in the US last month. The star shared an update on her other half’s health during an appearance on the Postcards From Midlife podcast this week.
Author and broadcaster Tana was quizzed on Gordon’s recovery by hosts Lorraine Candy and Trish Halpin, with both admitting the bruising that the TV chef had sustained from the accident looked “worrying”. Tana replied: “It was horrendous.”
“Luckily he is ok. How he didn’t break anything, I don’t know. The bruising has been huge, as you saw, but it just reminds us all we’re not invincible.”
Tana explained the incident has reminded the couple to wear a helmet for every journey they take on their bicycles. She shared: “We both love cycling. It’s so dangerous, but it’s so fun. It’s low impact.
“And we just go off to the Surrey Hills for hours. It just reminds us to wear a helmet and just have to be careful. He seems quite perky about it,” the mum-of-six concluded.

It comes after Gordon took to X to issue “an important Father’s Day message” urging his social media followers to wear a cycling helmet. He also lifted his chef’s jacket to reveal a painful-looking purple bruise covering his torso to show the damage caused by his accident.
In the post, the Hell’s Kitchen star thanked the “incredible trauma surgeons, doctors, and nurses” at the state’s private Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, but said he is “most thankful for my helmet that saved my life”.
He said in the clip: “I’m lucky to be standing here. I am in pain, it’s been a brutal week, but I am sort of getting through it.”
Gordon compared his bruise to “looking like a purple potato”, before reassuring fans that he “did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries”.
“You’ve got to wear a helmet,” he added. “I don’t care how short the journey is. I don’t care that these helmets cost money, they’re crucial.”
