‘Grey’s Anatomy’ to Pay Tribute to Katherine Heigl’s Character in Series’ 300th Episode

George and Cristina won’t be the only ghosts haunting the 300th episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ The episode will send the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial into a rollercoaster of emotions. That’s because they’ll be receiving patients who were victims of an accident. And three of them look a lot like George O’Malley (T. Knight), Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl).

According to EW, the show is intended to pay tribute to the original interns on the show, which also included Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers). “We’re thinking a lot about Cristina, George and Izzie during this episode because our three guest stars really look like them and will remind the doctors of those characters,” says Sarah Drew, who plays Dr. April Kepner. “It makes the original group really remember these people and want to fight for these patients to live.” As EW previously revealed, the episode, which will be titled “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story,” will include a special hunt for many old references for fans of the medical drama. In the US, the 300th episode airs this Thursday.
