Young Sheldon Star Montana Jordan on His Wedding Plans — and Why He Won’t Copy George Cooper
Montana Jordan is ready to ring the wedding bells.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Warner Bros Television Press Day on Thursday, Jan. 30, the actor, 21, revealed that he won’t be taking on any marriage lessons from his Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage character George Cooper.
Cooper announced his engagement to fiancée Jenna Weeks earlier this month.
“None, because he’s always in trouble,” Jordan tells PEOPLE. “He’s always in trouble with the wife and I don’t like to be in trouble.”
The star, who played the role of George Cooper on Young Sheldon from 2017 to 2024 before reprising the role in the spinoff series with actress Emily Osment (Mandy), also opened up about his wedding plans.
“That’s not my department. That’s her department,” he jokes to PEOPLE. “She’s doing great at it and yeah, she’s been doing some planning, so it’ll happen.”
“I mean I’m pretty easygoing, so whatever she wants,” Jordan adds. “I want her to be happy and that’s just what it is. I want her to be happy, so anything she wants.”
Jordan, who welcomed daughter Emma Rae with Weeks in May 2024, also spoke about how being a father in real life has played into his role of George, who is also father to baby daughter Constance in the show.
“I mean it’s crazy how it’s working out,” he says. “It’s crazy how life works. It helps you realize what is going through.”
“If I had never had a kid, I would never know what Georgie is going through,” he continues. “So that does help me play that on the screen and just bring authenticity to the screen and it’s really nice.”
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage follows the life of young husband and wife, George and Mandy, as they take on the role of being young parents.
The series, which is set in 1994, first aired on October 17, 2024, on CBS.
