George R.R. Martin’s upcoming installment, The Winds of Winter, might revisit Daenerys’ important scene in the novels that Game of Thrones trimmed down.
To say that we’ve waited long enough for The Winds of Winter is an understatement, but deep down, many of us still have a flicker of hope that George R.R. Martin will finally relieve us of our anxiety and give the answers we’ve been seeking since he released A Dance with Dragons.

Thankfully, we’ve got the preview chapters to keep us occupied and help us formulate theories on what would happen next to our beloved characters. After all, we’re extremely devastated with the ending of Game of Thrones so we need his upcoming book to soothe our hearts and minds.
The Winds of Winter is expected to revisit Daenerys’ prophetic dreams
Game of Thrones made a lot of controversial changes to Daenerys Targaryen’s arc, and one of the most unforgettable was cutting the key parts in her visions at the House of the Undying. The scene happened in Season 2, and after that, the show no longer looked back on it.
While it showed a couple of prophetic dreams to Dany that she actually had in George R.R. Martin’s A Clash of Kings, the majority of it was cut due to budget and time constraints. With the high anticipation for The Winds of Winter, there is a chance that we might revisit this part of her story.

Based on the previously released early pages of the sixth book, Euron Greyjoy will have a bigger role to play as evident in his brother’s visions. In The Forsaken, Aeron’s nightmare promises a lot of terror for the readers:
The dreams were even worse the second time. He saw the longships of the Ironborn adrift and burning on a boiling blood-red sea. He saw his brother on the Iron Throne again, but Euron was no longer human. He seemed more squid than man, a monster fathered by a kraken of the deep, his face a mass of writhing tentacles.
We have an idea that Euron might become the big bad villain in The Winds of Winter and that he might steal a dragon from Daenerys, especially after he seized the legendary Dragonbinder.
Going back to Dany’s prophetic visions in the book, it included a phrase: “Three mounts must you ride… one to bed and one to dread and one to love…” Many speculate that the first one is Khal Drogo, the second is Euron, and the third is Jon Snow. This would have been an epic revelation had Game of Thrones included it in the show!
Game of Thrones showrunner deliberately removed Dany’s important scenes

Of course, Martin was equally bummed about the omission of the majority of Dany’s visions. David Benioff explained to him that they had to make choices that would sometimes deviate from his intentions because some things wouldn’t work on screen (via Dartmouth Alumni Magazine).
Since we cannot do anything about this as the show wrapped in 2019, we can only trust Martin to hurry up the release of The Winds of Winter.
