“I had to let her go to truly love her,” Fiennes Tiffin said, echoing Hardin’s own emotional revelation in the film. “For so long, Hardin was driven by fear — fear of losing Tessa, fear of being alone. But by the end, he realizes that holding on too tightly can break what you’re trying to save.”
The film’s final scenes see Hardin standing apart from Tessa, watching her walk into a new chapter of her life.
