Influencers Are Recreating Rose Dawson’s Beauty Look And The Results Are Incredible

Our appetite for 90s nostalgia isn’t going anywhere. We’re all for throwing it back to the decade that saw the Supers dominate the runways, the Spice Girls built theirworld’s greatest girl band status and then there was Titanic, a cinematic milestone that remains one of the industry’s biggest blockbusters to date. This year the movie returns to the big screen to celebrate its 25th anniversary and our social media feeds are already brimming with Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio throwbacks. Beauty’s biggest content creators are getting in on the action too.

Titanic

In honor of Titanic’s anniversary, make-up extraordinaire Geena Hunttook to Instagram and TikTok to recreate Kate Winslet’s iconic Rose Dawson look, the role that shot her to stardom. Deep auburn hair already front and center, Gemma gets to work with a tapered curling wand to style in Rose’s signature waves.

Titanic nerds assemble – here’s a fun fact: Director Jim Cameron was the creative that insisted on Rose’s hair being red, so Kate dyed her lengths. It took her almost two years post-production to get rid of it and back to her natural shade. In an interview for the movie Kate also revealed, ‘My hair isn’t naturally wavy, so it had to be curled every day and was impossible to maintain because there was water all around us.’

And Geena’s Rose Dawson makeover wouldn’t be complete without thin, arched brows, pink flushed cheeks, lightly defined eyes, defined lips and a faux beauty spot on her upper lip, which Gemma fakes with Lancôme’s Idôle Liner in Brown, £17.60.
