Which of these cast members’ love lives surprises you the most?
While Elsbeth might not be the series we turn to when we’re craving romance and touching love stories, the cast that leads this show brings an element of humanity to their characters that makes their on-screen friendships and relationships seem completely real. When these actors take a break from solving crimes on television, many of our favorite cast members have found loving partners to spend their days with when the cameras aren’t rolling. Here, read about the real-life couples of the Elsbeth cast ahead of the October 12 premiere.
Carrie Preston and Michael Emerson
Preston has been married to her hubby, fellow actor Michael Emerson, since 1998, after meeting as young actors a few years prior. You may recognize Emerson for his roles in shows like Lost and Person of Interest, but you could have even caught the actor on an episode of Elsbeth in his role as Judge Milton Crawford. Both Carrie Preston and her husband are booked and busy when it comes to their work, but the duo finds time despite their hectic schedules to keep the romance alive.
Back in February, Carrie Preston exclusively told Woman’s World some of her Valentine’s Day plans with her hubby, sharing, “I will be working on Valentine’s Day, but I’m sure on that weekend we’ll be celebrating in some sort of way. We always get each other a card with some lovely sentiment in there. Michael writes beautiful cards and he’ll always get me a little something, whether it be chocolates or flowers…the traditional things. Sometimes he’ll get me something special, like a jewelry item—earrings or something like that. He’s very romantic.”
Carra Patterson and Ruffin Prentiss
Carra Patterson brings Kaya Blanke to life on this hit series, but when the cameras aren’t rolling, she’s kept busy with a loving family and a happy hubby at home. Carra and Ruffin are both actors, her husband known for roles in shows like Power, The Arrangement, SEAL Team and even Elsbeth as well! The duo has welcomed two daughters in recent years and still celebrate the life they’ve built together every day.
“Six years ago we threw the best party of our lives, bringing together family and friends to say our vows before God!,” Prentiss wrote on Instagram in honor of his and his wife’s anniversary. “As we walked out, surrounded by sparklers, we were on cloud nine! I’m still floating up there with you now baby, and the lights are still sparkling for us!”
Wendell Pierce and Erika Woods
Wendell Pierce met Erika Woods back in 2013 when she appeared on The Michael J. Fox Show, playing the actor’s date. Soon enough, their fictional romance became real after a date turned into a loving, long-lasting relationship. The duo has shared the screen, even playing husband and wife, in Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
Molly Price and Derek Kelly
There’s something we love about seeing a high-profile actor finding love in someone who lives a regular life outside of the spotlight, and Molly Price has found her forever in Derek Kelly, a New York City firefighter.
Daniel K. Isaac and Scott Rising
Daniel K. Isaac has been with his partner Scott Rising since 2023, and the actor often shares glimpses into his relationship on social media. The duo always seems to be enjoying some kind of adventure together, and it’s clear the love they share is genuine.
“You’ve expanded my world and my heart,” the actor wrote on Instagram in honor of Scott’s birthday. “The greatest life partner, travel partner, theatre date, shoulder to cry on, hand to hold, dance floor stud, party queen, Mario Party king &&&…to many adventures to come!”
