Things ended on a pretty happy note in the NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 finale. It almost felt final. Is that the case? Has the show been canceled?
When it comes to TV staples, NCIS: Los Angeles tends to be on our list. It performs well in syndication, and the new episodes are always exciting to watch. We also love to get to know the characters on a personal level a little more.
If you look at the CBS schedule for fall 2023, you’ll see that the series isn’t on the list of premieres. Of course, very few scripted shows are on the list of premieres in the fall. That’s all thanks to the current strike action. Does that mean we just have to wait a little while for NCIS: LA Season 15? This is where we have some bad news.
NCIS: Los Angeles Season 15 is not going to happen
Despite a popular three-way crossover event with NCIS and NCIS: Hawaii, CBS opted to cancel the long-running spin-off. This is due to the costs for the series, especially as it doesn’t pull in the live ratings that the flagship series does or that it has in the past.
The writers were told partway through the season. Despite this, the finale did wrap up a few storylines. The only one that didn’t wrap up was the one with Hetty in the Middle East. Nell has formed a team to get her out, but it’s something that is going to take place off-screen for now. We’d love a TV movie to see the fight to save her.
However, everything else did feel pretty final in the show. We got to see the wedding of the year that we’d been waiting for, and we found out that Kensi and Deeks are expecting a baby after years of trying and giving up.
It’s not the last that we’ll see at least one of the characters, though. LL Cool J will reprise his role as Sam Hana in NCIS: Hawaii. Maybe we’ll see more if it becomes a success.
