Soap fans can’t help but wonder whether Scott Clifton is returning to General Hospital. Liam’s story looks grim on The Bold and the Beautiful. He was given a death sentence. What does that mean for the actor?
Breaking His Silence
Clifton opens up about Liam’s storyline in a new interview with Soap Opera Digest. On the Wednesday, April 23 episode of B&B, Liam learned that he was dying. Yet, he’s in denial. Does this mean that Clifton will return to GH? The rumor mill has been buzzing about his comeback.
“No,” Clifton said with a laugh. “I am not at all thinking about General Hospital or any other show.” For now, he wants to focus on Liam’s storyline. He wants to approach this sensitive topic in the best way possible. “I’m just thinking about the best job I can do telling this story. That is what is important to me. I just want to do right by this show about this story and this storyteller – namely, Brad.”
What Is Liam Thinking?
Liam is still coming to terms with this grim news. He also refuses to tell his family about his medical condition. Clifton explained what was going through Liam’s mind during this time. “I don’t know if it’s anger, but he starts to get a little sharp, you know? And it was fun to kind of go through these different ways of coping, but in a really concentrated, short amount of time,” he said.
Clifton is going along for the ride. He admitted having “a lot of fun on that roller coaster.” He’s also aware of the rumors about Liam’s fate. Clifton is on the same ride with the fans. He has no idea what’s going to happen to Liam. “I also want the fans to know that whatever happens, this story is being told with such thoughtfulness and delicacy and generosity and love, from the top down,” Clifton explained.
As you can see, his primary focus is getting this storyline right. “We all really, really care [about telling it right],” Clifton added.
