I’m hopeful that FBI season 7 will finally give Maggie the story I want for her. For the past seven years, Maggie has been one of the central characters in this police procedural, although she was once temporarily replaced by another character from the One Chicago universe when actress Missy Peregrym wasn’t available. Maggie and O.A. are one of several partnerships in the New York FBI Field Office that work together to catch terrorists and other violent criminals who are attempting to harm New Yorkers.
Over the past few years, Maggie has been going through a lot. Her PTSD after she was trapped in a room full of sarin gas made it difficult for her to focus on anything other than work, and in season 6, her friend and former mentor was killed, leaving a little girl behind who Maggie took in. Thus, she has not had any time to focus on anything other than her work and taking care of her foster daughter. However, I’m pleased that recent FBI Season 7 updates suggest that may be about to change.
It Sounds Like Maggie May Get A Romance Story In FBI Season 7
Missy Peregrym’s Recent Comments Give Me Hope
Missy Peregrym recently teased Maggie’s FBI season 7 story, and while she was careful to sidestep the question of romance, she didn’t rule it out, either. Peregrym confirmed that Maggie would have more stories focused on her personal life than she had in the past, which reinforced my belief that she would no longer be focused solely on her work life. Peregrym also said that Maggie would have to make some changes in order to care for her foster daughter properly, including turning to someone for help instead of trying to do everything herself.
Maggie’s decision to turn to somebody for support is a gigantic step forward for her, as she has always been somewhat of a lone wolf. While her relationship with her support person could be platonic, I believe it’s more likely to be romantic because it is difficult to help raise a traumatized child without becoming partners in every sense of the word. Thus, working together to take care of Ella could ignite romantic sparks that Maggie and her partner have been attempting to ignore.
I’m Hoping FBI Season 7 Delivers The Maggie & OA Romance I’ve Been Waiting For
These Two Have Had Chemistry For Far Too Long To Ignore
O.A. and Maggie have been through too much together for Maggie to turn to anyone else to help her reset her life after becoming a mother. This would be a beautiful, sweet way to begin their romance. If Maggie leans on O.A. for help raising Ella, it could blossom into a romance by the end of the season. While I’ve been waiting a long time for their romance to begin, a slow burn throughout the season would be more realistic than these two quickly deciding they want to get into a relationship with one another.
Maggie and O.A. will have limited time to establish their romance, as they will be missing from some episodes.
Before O.A. and Maggie could get together, O.A. would have to end things with his current girlfriend. Additionally, the FBI season 7 cast will be rotating through episodes rather than every main character appearing in each story. Thus, Maggie and O.A. will have limited time to establish their romance, as they will be missing from some episodes. It would be frustrating and annoying if they were to disappear for several episodes immediately after establishing their romance, so I’d rather the series took its time and established the new relationship properly.
Why Maggie & OA Are An Obvious Pairing In The CBS Show
These Two Have Chemistry That Goes Beyond The Physical
I’ve wanted OA and Maggie to get together romantically almost since the beginning of the series. The idea of work partnerships leading to romance has been overdone on police procedurals, but when two characters have as much chemistry as Maggie and O.A. do, a romantic relationship is almost inevitable. The sparks between these two are not just physical; they understand each other better than anyone else does and are able to talk each other out of their worst impulses.
Whenever O.A. and Maggie are forced apart for storyline reasons, it reinforces my belief that they should be together romantically because they don’t function as well without each other. This was especially true in FBI season 6, episode 11, when Maggie was in DC with Ella and O.A. struggled to tell his current girlfriend about his experience as a prisoner of war. It was far harder for O.A. to talk to his girlfriend than it ever has been to share deeply personal memories with Maggie, which proved he had chosen the wrong person as his romantic partner.
