After spending nearly two decades chasing demons with Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins in Eric Kripke’s mega-popular CW series, Supernatural, Jared Padalecki’s schedule was wide open for the first time in 2020 when the show finally came to an end. One might think that rest and relaxation were at the top of the docket for the Gilmore Girls alum, but instead, he kept things moving, quickly announcing that he’d star in the rebooted Walker project for the network the very next year. After four seasons of taking on Texas’ biggest and baddest and spearheading a prequel offshoot titled Walker: Independence, Padalecki’s schedule cleared up once again when Walker was cut from The CW’s lineup. Luckily, there was a part out there that was perfect for him that wouldn’t require quite as much of a commitment as the ones that came before, and he joined the Fire Country family in its third season.
With a three-episode arc, Padalecki introduced the show’s town of Edgewater to Camden Casey, a SoCal firefighter and training captain who imparts his knowledge onto Bode (Max Thieriot) and the rest of Station 42. As one would expect, Padalecki’s turn on the series was a successful one, with rumors immediately kicking off about a spin-off series or some kind of return at the very least. During a conversation with Fire Country’s showrunner, Tia Napolitano, Collider’s Christina Radish asked exactly that in hopes of getting a concrete timeline for Camden’s incredibly hopeful return. In response, Napolitano said, “We love Camden Casey,” which sounds like a great start, adding, “I don’t have any updates on his return to Edgewater, so far.”
While there may not be any sign of Camden in the upcoming fourth season, we’ll keep our fingers crossed for the future. However, in the meantime, Napolitano said our beloved characters will still have their hands full of plenty of other personalities crashing the party over the next set of episodes, revealing,
“We’ll see a lot of new faces in Edgewater this season. There are a lot of people coming through to shake things up, including people from our characters’ past. We’ll get a new glimpse into Sharon’s family. You’ll see a lot of new faces in Edgewater.”
Where You’ll Next See Jared Padalecki

If Napolitano’s remarks about Padalecki’s return to a guest role on Fire Country have you down, fear not, as another guest appearance is on the horizon. Those who have long loved Kripke’s crass and crude Prime Video series, The Boys, likely already know that Padalecki is set to play a short but sweet role in the show’s fifth and final season. Not only that, but the episode in question will also feature his Supernatural co-stars, Collins and Ackles, with the latter reprising his role as Soldier Boy from the title’s third season. While we don’t know specifics, it sounds like they’ll all share screen time with one another and that the bit will happen in the back half of the season. The final batch of episodes is already in post-production, so it’s only a matter of time until we hear more.
Season 4 of Fire Country debuts on Friday, October 17.
