Jensen Ackles Is Officially Back for Another Season of His Mega-Hit 89% RT Series in New Video

In the video, Ackles serves face while addressing his followers, reminding them to tune in for the weekly installment of Countdown. After giving his Prime Video crime drama a boost, he teases the excitement to come when Tracker returns for what will be its third season this fall. In the caption, he adds, “Good to be back in action,” and gives Countdown another shoutout, adding, “Check out this week’s #Countdown … things are revealed and choices are made. Enjoy.”

Ackles first appeared as Russell Shaw in the first season of Tracker, which established his damaged relationship with his younger brother, Colter (Hartley). For years, Colter had presumed that Russell was responsible for the death of their father, but the Season 2 finale revealed that the real killer was Otto (Alex Fernandez) and that he did so at the request of Colter’s mother, Mary (Wendy Crewson). The family dynamics of the Shaw family have always been strained, but things are about to get even more dramatic when Colter undoubtedly confronts Mary with his new information at the top of Season 3. As for how Russell will re-enter the picture, we’re not totally sure how the wayward big brother will make his grand return, but hopefully he’ll be able to better patch up his relationship with Colter upon his arrival.

What About a ‘Countdown’ Renewal?

Earlier this summer, Ackles returned to television in an explosive way when he joined the cast of Prime Video’s Countdown. Created by Derek Haas (the mind behind the One Chicago franchise), the series is a love letter to big action flicks and stars of days past. While audiences have loved tagging along with the Supernatural alum’s Detective Mark Meachum, critics haven’t been quite as excited about it. With Season 1 winding down, all eyes are on Prime Video in hopes that the streamer will give the title a Season 2 renewal. As of right now, nothing has been announced that would push our suspicions in either direction.
