Jeremy Clarkson’s reaction to the Euro 2024 final saw him branded “rude” and “disrespectful”. The former Top Gear presenter sparked uproar with his latest Instagram post after England failed to bring it home.
Despite Cole Palmer, who plays for Clarkson’s beloved Chelsea, giving England a fighting chance in the second half, Gareth Southgate’s men failed to secure another goal. A late goal from Spain saw the team suffer a 2-1 defeat on Sunday night.
Many were disappointed with the result, but Clarkson decided to make his feelings known in a rather savage fashion, GB News reports. The Clarkson’s Farm star shared a photo of a bin on Instagram, which was full of England and Union Jack flags.
Although he didn’t caption the snap, the post left several fans furious. One funmed: “No one should treat their country flags like this. If you are sad at a loss, its human to be sad. But never disgrace your homeland.”
A second wrote: “That’s so disrespectful,” while a third replied: “Don’t be rude like that.” Another comment read: “He is probably drunk right now, he will wake up in the morning and regret this.”
