Jeremy Clarkson was forced to apologise after an inconvenience at Diddly Squat Farm left Clarkson’s Farm fans bitterly disappointed.
Jeremy Clarkson said sorry to his fans after the small car pack at his Diddly Squat Farm became jam-packed within hours of opening. The shop has been busier than usual this week because of the half-term holidays.
It also comes amidst piqued interest in Clarkson’s Farm after series three debuted on Prime Video earlier this month.
Unfortunately, this meant many Clarkson’s Farm fans travelled to the Chipping Norton farm only to be disappointed not to get a space.
Taking to the Diddly Squat Farm Instagram page, many users commented on the posts to express their frustration.
One lamented: “We came and didn’t even make it in the shop! Long way to come to not make it inside.”
Another described: “Got stuck in the traffic on the main road yesterday going through to Chipping Norton. It was insane and people parked all over the place causing hazards on the main road. We queued to get through!”
On Thursday, Jeremy issued an apology to gutted fans, writing on the shop’s Instagram Story: “As it’s half term, our piddly Diddly car park is jammed by mid-morning… Apologies.”
The Grand Tour star has also urged visitors not to park in front of his neighbours’ driveways and suggested they visit the farm shop during quieter periods mid-week.
Many lucky fans did get to go inside the famous farm shop to purchase some of Jeremy and girlfriend Lisa Hogan’s products.
One wrote: “Arrived early Bank Holiday Monday and did not have to wait long, managed to bag some goodies from the shop and then have a sausage bap with a view over the gorgeous countryside, thank you Team Diddly!”
Another added: “Queued for over an hour and half today for sausages, bacon, fudge and Hawkstone beers, was well worth the wait – couldn’t believe the crowds, then again…”
And a third explained: “We came on Friday arrived for 9.30 when it opened and only waited 45 mins for the shop, had a lovely bacon & sausage sandwich and a cider.”
Diddly Squat Farm opened its doors in 2020 and sells Jeremy’s own produce including milk, rapeseed oil, jams and chutneys.
The shop is open Wednesday to Sunday from 9.30am until 4.30pm.
