Jeremy Clarkson recently shared how he has purchased an Oxfordshire pub with the hopes of opening his own establishment following the success of Diddly Squat Farm.
However, he also explained previously how the pub was built on a former dogging site, and this week he found some grim evidence of that.
The Clarkson’s Farm legend is understood to have bought The Windmill, apparently offering under £1 million for the property which he hopes to open and sell “British food”.
Writing for The Sunday Times, Clarkson stated: “I just needed the pub where this could all happen. And then, after I’d looked [at] about 14,000, I found just the place.”
Revamping and opening such a business isn’t all smooth-sailing though, and he went on to admit he’s had to deal with a few hurdles.
With the help of the local council, Clarkson managed to shut down a nearby dogging site but the area is still littered with problems, such as dead rats.

However, in an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, the 64-year-old demonstrated some of the unfortunate aspects of sorting the site, with the area’s dogging past startlingly clear.
In a short clip, the former Top Gear star dryly remarked: “Tell me you bought a pub on a dogging site without telling me you bought a pub on a dogging site,” before revealing he was holding a twig with a pair of women’s underwear hooked onto it.
He grimaces before ending the clip, which amused fans were quick to comment on.
“Don’t lie, they’re yours,” one joked before another quipped: “Bet that was left there as a cruel joke by James May.”
Also commenting on Clarkson’s former Grand Tour and Top Gear co-stars, another penned: “I see Richard left his knickers bless him. Tough day.”
“They have to be yours jeremy,” another commented, while a fifth asked: “Is this a PUBlicity stunt.”
Someone else suggested: “Rename the pub The Dog Inn”.
Clarkson turned his attention to opening a pub after his Diddly Squat restaurant plans fell through.
Unfortunately for the presenter, his application which outlined plans to open an eatery was denied in 2021.
The Daily Mail reports Clarkson hopes for pub to serve food made with “British ingredients” and wants to include bar games and a ban on noisy TVs.
The TV personality launched a huge hit on Amazon Prime when the first series of Clarkson’s Farm debuted in 2021, and two more successful series have since hit the streaming platform.
The show is set to go ahead with series four soon, with the team having filmed the episodes earlier this year. Clarkson has admitted he “knows” when he’ll end Clarkson’s Farm, with viewers excited for more updates on Diddly Squat.
