Jeremy Clarkson has plans for his new Cotswold boozer, bought for ‘less than £1million’, and they will all be linked to the future of his Amazon Prime show, Clarkson’s Farm.
Clarkson’s Farm will welcome a new feature in its upcoming season after Jeremy Clarkson purchased an Oxfordshire pub.
It was recently announced that the Top Gear star, 64, bought the Windmill pub near Burford in Oxfordshire. It’s been suggested that as a result he can sell his own beer and farm produce at the venue, which is located around ten miles from Diddly Squat Farm.
Renovation work is understood to be underway at the pub. Jeremy teased in a post on Instagram earlier this week: “New pub coming along. Only the water, gas, lavatories, staff and electrics to sort and we’ll be ready to go.”
But with filming for series four of Clarkson’s Farm underway, it has now been revealed that the show will also feature the TV personality’s work behind the bar.
A source told The Sun this Sunday, July 7: “Viewers love following Jeremy and Kaleb Cooper at Diddly Squat so obviously it felt like a bit of a no-brainer to film their work on the pub as well as at the farm.”
“Filming of series four is underway now but all the details are to be ironed out soon.” However, Jeremy has made it clear on Instagram that Clarkson’s Farm viewers will have to wait until 2025 for his new venture to be fully ready.
Recent reports have suggested that Jeremy was “so intent” on taking over the village pub that he offered the owner “almost £1 million” for it, “within minutes of meeting her,” according to MailOnline, although Jeremy then affirmed that he bought the property for “less than £1 million.”
The owner, 79-year-old Jackie Walker is said to have opened the pub with her late husband Alan Walker in 1983 and was surprised to be told of Jeremy’s interest.
Jeremy’s eagerness eventually “accelerated into a finalised deal within minutes of their meeting” as Jackie recalled that a film crew came into the pub and the “next thing” she knew, Jeremy and his team knocked on her door, asking if she would be interested in selling it.
