Jesse Palmer Teases “Golden Bachelor” Finale Full of Twists Even Mel Owens Didn’t See Coming md18

The host also weighs in on Cindy and Mel’s uncomfortable conversation about their future.

Each week this season, The Golden Bachelor host Jesse Palmer will answer a few questions about Mel’s “journey” to find “love.” Today, Jesse shares his thoughts via email on Cindy and Mel’s conversation, the last time Mother Nature rooted for a Bachelor couple, and what to expect in the upcoming finale.

When Peg and Mel were discussing their feelings for each other on their date, a storm started brewing around them. Have you ever witnessed another example of Mother Nature rooting for a Bachelor couple?

JESSE PALMER: I remember the day Joey picked up Kelsey on his Vespa for their one-on-one date in Ronda, Spain — the weather was absolutely glorious! The sun was shining, and you just couldn’t help but think: “These two are destined to be together. It’s too perfect!”

It’s safe to say that Mel was not a fan of swimming with the stingrays. Can Bachelors/Bachelorettes tap out on dates if they get nervous?

They can absolutely tap out if they choose to though, for the most part, Bachelors and Bachelorettes have been good sports and powered through! Case in point: Jenn Tran who jumped off tall buildings and bridges!

Cindy and Mel’s date night conversation becomes awkward when Mel is unable to provide her any concrete answers about their future together. How do you think that discussion affects Cindy’s mindset toward their relationship as they head into the finale?

I think everyone wants to go into Fantasy Suites with as much confidence as possible and conviction that they are the one. I think Cindy was hoping for some reassurance from Mel, and she didn’t get any. I don’t want to speak for Cindy, but I imagine it created a lot of doubt in her mind.

Toward the end of the episode, Cindy wonders if Mel’s hesitancy toward discussing the future is because of her, his relationship with Peg, or if that’s just who he is. Do you think it’s any of those three options, or something else entirely?

I can’t speak for Mel, but I believe he truly was conflicted in that moment and was developing feelings for both women.

During his conversation with Cindy, Mel seems to suggest that he might not propose to anyone in the finale. What can you tell us about next week?

The final hours in Antigua are so full of twists and turns that nobody saw coming — including Mel. He will be faced with an incredibly difficult decision, and he is going to do things his way.
