It’s been six years since The Big Bang Theory ended , yet fans still hope for a revival. Sadly, Jim Parsons — the man behind Sheldon Cooper — isn’t on board.
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Parsons was asked about the chances of a reboot. His response was brief but clear:
“I can’t imagine. Well, I could imagine, but no, I imagine no.”
Parsons’ decision to leave after Season 12 was the main reason the sitcom ended in 2019. While CBS considered continuing without him, producers and cast members agreed that The Big Bang Theory simply couldn’t exist without Sheldon.
Since then, Parsons has remained part of the franchise as the narrator and executive producer of Young Sheldon, even returning on-screen in its emotional finale — likely his final moment as the beloved genius.
While co-stars like Kaley Cuoco and Kunal Nayyar have expressed interest in revisiting their roles, a full reboot seems unlikely without Parsons. Still, with The Big Bang Theory continuing to dominate streaming platforms , fans can’t help but hope he’ll one day change his mind. For now, though, Sheldon Cooper’s story seems complete.
