Since it was Johnny’s gun that was used to shoot EJ, fans are wondering if he’ll get accused of shooting his father on Days of Our Lives. On the other hand, many believe that he’ll walk free of charges. But there’s something else happening behind the scenes that could make this all go away.
Here’s what we know about how Johnny could be acquitted of shooting EJ.
Will Johnny evade going to prison in EJ’s shooting case in Days of Our Lives?
In the August 22, 2025, episode of Days of Our Lives, Johnny’s trial for shooting EJ is coming to an end. Johnny is representing himself, and Belle is the prosecutor.
As the judge enters and everyone gets ready for the verdict, something unexpected happens. Kristen suddenly bursts into the courtroom, causing a big scene. She may be trying to protect her daughter, Rachel, who is the person who shot EJ.
It turns out that EJ had struck a deal with Kristen. Earlier, he had remembered that Rachel was the one who was pointing his gun at him. She wanted answers regarding her grandmother. When he gave her what she wanted, Rachel didn’t believe him and shot him with it.
EJ told Kristen that he was going to reveal to the court that Rachel was the one who shot him if she didn’t find an alternative way to clear Johnny’s name. With the way Kristen barged into the courtroom, it looks like she might’ve figured out a way.
After the verdict, Johnny reacts with surprise as he speaks with Chanel and Paulina. They all also seem very happy about the result. Johnny may have been acquitted. EJ, surprisingly, seems happy to see Johnny and Chanel together. Maybe this means he’s finally ready to stop trying to break them up.
Outside the courtroom, EJ speaks kindly with Belle and smiles, possibly hoping she’ll forgive him for all the drama. Marlena and EJ also talk about what happened and wonder if Rachel’s secret will stay hidden or if the truth is already out.
