Jonathan Bailey, best known as the dashing Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, reassured fans that he’s not done with the Bridgerton family just yet. During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Emmy-nominated actor confirmed his return for Netflix’s highly anticipated Bridgerton Season 4, even as the story shifts focus to another member of the family.
“I’m gonna reunite with the family next week,” Bailey said, teasing his involvement as production continues on the upcoming season.
What’s Next for Bridgerton?
Season 4 is set to follow the romantic journey of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Beckett (Yerin Ha), adapting the storyline from Julia Quinn’s third novel in the series, An Offer from a Gentleman. The story introduces Sophie, a mysterious maid and Lady in Silver, as Benedict’s captivating love interest, promising another season filled with passion, intrigue, and lavish Regency drama.
When Meyers asked Bailey if the swoon-worthy series ever feels repetitive, the actor replied with enthusiasm: “No. It changes every year — every two years. What an amazing thing to be a part of. There’s gonna be lots of space for new people to come in, and Luke and Yerin are gonna be great. So I’ll always pop back and say hello.”
Bailey’s sentiment mirrors his earlier comments about his ongoing role in the franchise. Speaking on Good Morning America in August, he expressed his excitement for supporting the new cast members: “I’m gonna be there to support the youngsters as we go.”
Anthony and Kate’s Role in Season 4
Though Anthony and Kate’s love story reached its fairytale conclusion in Season 2, the couple remains central to the series, showcasing a happy, domesticated version of their relationship. As older siblings, Anthony and Kate often provide guidance to the younger Bridgertons, offering advice—and a few sly quips—on navigating the turbulent waters of love and courtship.
Their presence is a comforting anchor for fans, who have grown attached to the couple’s enemies-to-lovers romance, beautifully portrayed by Bailey and Simone Ashley.
Jonathan Bailey’s Star Continues to Rise
Beyond his Bridgerton commitments, Bailey has an exciting slate of projects on the horizon. He’ll star as Fiyero in Jon M. Chu’s adaptation of Wicked, alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, set to hit theaters on November 22.
Additionally, Bailey will appear in Jurassic World: Rebirth, scheduled for release on July 2, 2025, where he’ll join a star-studded cast including Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali.
With such a dynamic range of roles, Jonathan Bailey is proving to be one of the industry’s most versatile and sought-after talents. And while his star continues to rise, his promise to return to Bridgerton ensures fans won’t have to say goodbye to Anthony Bridgerton anytime soon.
