Justin Hartley Jokes Getting Wife Sofia Pernas on ‘Tracker’ Didn’t Even Require a Phone Call
Justin Hartley‘s marriage to Sofia Pernas comes with a lot of perks – including her making cameos on his show Tracker anytime he wants.
“Obviously, I got her because I live with her,” Hartley, 47, quipped on the Friday, October 25, episode of Max’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? “It’s not even a phone call.”
Hartley didn’t have to do much to get Pernas, 35, onboard. “It’s like, ‘Hey, babe. Come on, we’re going to work,'” he added. “But that’s fun when you can work with people that you love.”
According to Hartley, Pernas will be making several appearances on season 2 of the hit CBS series.
Justin Hartley and Sofia Pernas Have Hinted at Her Return to ‘Tracker’
“She’ll be on next week. She comes back a few times,” he teased about her first return, set to air Sunday, October 27. “It’s great. It’s great having her. She’s a light and we get the greatest guest stars on our show.”
Based on Jeffery Deaver‘s novel The Never Game, Tracker is centered around a survivalist named Colter (Hartley) who travels the country helping to solve a variety of mysteries. Hartley not only stars in the show but also serves as an executive producer, which allowed him to surprise viewers with exciting guest stars such as Pernas, Jensen Ackles, Melissa Roxburgh, Jennifer Morrison and more.
Despite their busy schedules, Hartley praised the cast for making an effort to return when they can.
“In a perfect world, we’d see [Jensen] as much as we can. He’s a busy guy, though. So we’ll see what we can do, and the same thing with Melissa. We don’t need eight or nine times, but it would be good to have a few with him and a few with Sofia,” Hartley told The Wrap in May. “I think we can sprinkle Sofia in a little more, just because there’s that backstory with Billie and Colter and trying to figure out what the hell that was with Jennifer Morrison’s character.”

Hartley also teased some of the overarching plot lines for the next season, telling Deadline that same month, “We have a whole other season to shoot that we have to make better than season 1. So while we wanted all those story lines wrapped up, we also wanted those bows to sort of lead to other questions – bigger, deeper questions – about his past. So I think we did that in answering some of these questions that we had built up all year. I think we did a good job of making sure that the answers to those questions then lead to a bigger mystery, something that we can unpack in season 2.”
While Tracker fans can look forward to most of their favorite characters coming back, the show had to write off one major cast member. During the season 2 premiere, which aired earlier this month, Tracker addressed Robin Weigert‘s shocking exit from her role as Teddi.

“[Teddi] is going to be [gone] for a while. She is helping her mom get sorted. I was getting in the way you might say and it really wasn’t good,” Velma (Abby McEnany) said about the distance between her and her wife. “So I came back. Don’t you worry because I am keeping busy.”
