While Big Bang Theory stars Kaley Cuoco and Melissa Rauch shine as Harley Quinn in DC Universe, Mayim Bialik is yet to join the franchise.
Hollywood actress Mayim Bialik is alone among The Big Bang Theory alumni, who has yet to join the DC Universe, unlike Kaley Cuoco and Melissa Rauch. Both actresses, who starred alongside Bialik in the CBS sitcom, have donned Harley Quinn’s signature voice role in major DC projects.
Best known for her role in the ’90s sitcom, Blossom, Bialik regained prominence in the industry again with her role as Amy Farrah Fowler in The Big Bang Theory. She earned four Emmy nominations for her performance in the sitcom. However, despite her multifaceted career, a role in the DC Universe remains conspicuously absent.
Kaley Cuoco and Melissa Rauch Both Voiced Harley Quinn in Major DC Projects
Known for starring in The Big Bang Theory, Kaley Cuoco and Melissa Rauch both share one common role in their resumes, one of the most beloved DC characters, Harley Quinn.
Cuoco, who played the charming and vibrant Penny in the CBS sitcom, has lent her voice to the DC villain in the animated series, Harley Quinn, since its inception in 2019. She also serves as an executive producer of the show.
And her performance in the DC animated series has earned praise, becoming a critic favorite since its release. And it just becomes even more evident with the show’s ongoing long run. Season 5 of the show concluded earlier this year with a sixth season already in development.
While Cuoco doesn’t seem to be parting ways with her DC character anytime soon, she was not the first The Big Bang Theory star to land the role. Melissa Rauch also voiced Harley Quinn in the 2017 animated movie Batman and Harley Quinn.
Starring Rauch alongside Kevin Conroy, the movie received mixed reviews. However, the actress still received praise for capturing the iconic character’s playful yet chaotic side while bringing her own unique spin to the role.
And together, Cuoco and Rauch form a unique duo; no other Big Bang Theory cast members have played the same iconic comic book character, Harley Quinn, in this case, across two different DC properties.
Mayim Bialik Hasn’t Made Her DC Debut—Yet
Despite her former Big Bang Theory castmates having significant roles as Harley Quinn in major DC projects, Mayim Bialik has not had any onscreen or voice roles in the DC Universe.
She even contributed to the DC community as an editor. According to DC, Bialik curated the 2021 comic book Flash Facts, a middle-grade graphic novel anthology that uses DC superheroes to teach STEM concepts by combining fun, science, and everyday problem-solving.
Despite that, the actress has yet to play a DC role on screen. But better late than never, and I have just the character, or rather characters, she could be a strong fit for in a potential DC project.
The actress can join her fellow Big Bang Theory co-stars in the roster of those who have played Harley Quinn, more specifically Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a cerebral, early‑career psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, exploring her descent into Harley Quinn. However, Bialik doesn’t necessarily have to follow in the footsteps of Kaley Cuoco and Melissa Rauch.
Alternatively, she could vividly play Dr. Leslie Thompkins, a compassionate and intelligent physician who serves as a moral anchor in Gotham and a close ally to Batman. Or imagine her giving voice to a character like Veronica Cale, a powerful and manipulative businesswoman and intellectual rival to Wonder Woman.
The role would allow her to flex her dramatic range, combining ambition, bitterness, and emotional complexity. Mayim’s sharp delivery and expressive presence could bring a grounded realism to Cale, making her more than just a one-dimensional antagonist.
While she is yet to make her DC debut, Bialik has voiced Marvel characters, including Lady Lightning in the 2014 TV film Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 and Bush Pilot in the video game, X2: Wolverine’s Revenge (IMDb). And given her compelling voice potential, a DC crossover feels not just possible, but eagerly anticipated.
