The first episode premieres Feb. 8 on Fox Nation
Kevin Costner is bringing nature’s beauty into the spotlight in the upcoming three-part series Yellowstone to Yosemite with Kevin Costner.
Following the success of his 2022 docuseries Yellowstone: One-Fifty, in which he explored the origin of Yellowstone National Park, the actor, 70, has teamed up again with Fox Nation to trace the footsteps of the 1903 Yosemite expedition of Former President Theodore Roosevelt and environmental advocate John Muir. This expedition helped acquire federal protection for Yosemite.
Ahead of the release of the first episode on Saturday, Feb. 8, PEOPLE has the exclusive premiere of the show’s trailer.

“Have you ever heard the expression that sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction? I think this is one of those stories,” Costner says in a voice-over as clips of the national park appear on the screen.
“Roosevelt was a man of action. It was a moment in time that changed America forever. It was a piece of paper that said, ‘wipe them out if they get in your way,’ ” he later adds. “I came through a tunnel and saw maybe the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen in my life.”
“They didn’t set out to change America, but that’s what ended up happening,” says Costoner.
According to a press release, fans can expect the show to feature “visuals of the geology, flora and fauna of Glacier Point to El Capitan, Yosemite Falls and more.”

The series finds Costoner exploring the region’s “rich Indigenous American legacy, the serendipitous arrival of outsiders in 1850, and how John Muir evolved into a crusader for our wildest places.”
“Through Costner’s perspective, he illuminates the struggle waged by Muir as he contended with the intricate politics of resource management and how Roosevelt’s intervention culminated in the establishment of a more structured National Park System, the creation of 150 National Forests, 5 National Parks, and the preservation and protection of 230 million acres of precious land,” the press release adds.
