Kevin Costner Returns to Yellowstone for New Limited Series

Yellowstone star Kevin Costner is set to headline a new three-part docuseries for Fox Nation entitled Yellowstone to Yosemite With Kevin Costner.

The new series serves as a sequel to Costner’s Yellowstone: One-Fifty. Costner will host and produce, and the show will see him retread the 1903 Yosemite expedition of President Theodore Roosevelt and environmental advocate John Muir.

“Once in a while, you come across a story that has that truly special mix of elements; it’s stranger than fiction and happens against all odds. It results in something that legitimately changes the world for the good and, most importantly, it all really happened,” Costner said in a statement. “The story of President Teddy Roosevelt and John Muir’s camping trip through Yosemite is one of those truly special ones, and I’m excited to dig into the next chapter of the preservation of the American frontier.”

“Kevin Costner has a unique ability to capture the American experience and captivate an audience through his extraordinary storytelling,” Fox Nation President Lauren Petterson added. “With the enormous success of our first project together, there is no filmmaker that better embodies the spirit of America 250 than Costner.”

Kevin Costner’s Back on the Small Screen

Costner has long been a fan-favorite when it comes to the Western genre and period dramas, beginning with his iconic turn as Jake in director Lawrence Kasdan’s 1985 hit, Silverado. In more recent years, Costner has cemented himself as an absolute titan of the genre with his leading role as John Dutton III in the recently concluded neo-Western series, Yellowstone. When asked about the future of the series and its numerous, hotly-anticipated spin-offs, Yellowstone star Cole Hauser, who portrayed Rip Wheeler, responded, “We will see what happens over the next year or so and we’ll see what’s next. Hopefully, we can continue to get in people’s living rooms and entertain them the way we have over the last seven years.” Hauser added, “For me, to be able to do that, to educate people, enlighten and entertain them is always the dream.”

Fans of Costner’s work have plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks, as the Santa Barbara International Film Festival is slated to host the premiere of the star’s Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 on February 7. Created, co-written, directed, produced by and starring Costner, Horizon: An American Saga is quite possibly the most long-running passion project of the star’s career. Beginning with a concept formed in 1988, Horizon: An American Saga is to be comprised of four parts, the first of which premiered on June 8, 2024. Both the first and second chapters were filmed back-to-back on a combined budget of $100 million, though the first only managed to bring in less than $39 million at the box office.

Yellowstone to Yosemite will premiere on Fox Nation on Feb. 8.
