Costner is arguably most famous for his role as John Dutton in Yellowstone, the hit contemporary Western series from Taylor Sheridan, but things didn’t end as happily as they started. Costner has been open that his departure from Yellowstone, which aired its series finale near the end of last year, was partially due to his desire to focus more on Horizon. During 2024, when both projects were filming at once, he even left the set of Horizon to film scenes for Yellowstone, only to arrive and realize that the scripts for his scenes were not complete. Costner has also clashed with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan over creative differences during the final season, so it’s safe to say both parties are happy to have moved on. The sequel to Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga is ready to be released, but has been stuck in turmoil since last year.
