Julia Roberts Reveals Taking Hard Drugs On Andy Cohen’s Show
During her interview with Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, actress Julia Roberts confessed the hardest drug she has ever taken.
“Mushrooms. Yeah, it was nice. Not gonna lie. Kids, don’t try it at home!”
She recalled it was a positive experience for her, although she did not forget to warn the young members of the audience.
Psilocybin mushrooms, or magic mushrooms, are consumed for their hallucinogenic effects. They are considered psychedelic drugs which are illegal in many countries. When taken in large doses, it can cause health problems.
The actress has once dispelled rumors of her being dependent on drugs after she called off her wedding with Kiefer Sutherland, with her ending up in a hospital due to flu. In 1991, she told Entertainment Weekly:
“This started, I can only assume, because I was so thin. And it’s just absurd, you know. I don’t know how anybody who would do drugs could function. I don’t — nor have I ever done drugs — and I guess it’s boring to be sort of a young actor in Hollywood and not have a drug problem.”
Roberts did not elaborate on her interview with Andy Cohen when she took the mushrooms, but fans can assume it was years after this interview. She quipped:
“Well, then, I’m boring, and that’s cool with me, because I’ve got clear skin and clean arms, and I’m just thin. Period. The end. Quit picking on me, you know.”
Roberts’ revelation on Cohen’s show was indeed a shocker since the actress has profusely dissed the culture of using drugs and even the trend on vaping.
