General Hospital star Kirsten Storms shocked fans by announcing she was taking a break from the show after 20 years as Maxie. The actress also revealed that a big move was in her future.
Storms and her daughter Harper, 11, are leaving Los Angeles for a new start in Nashville. As Parade reported, fans supported Storm’s life changes, even if it meant she would be MIA on General Hospital for a while.
However, a couple of comments were a bit judgmental, causing Storms to respond. One was a fan coming for General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini, who Storms defended.

Another comment was quick to blame Storms’ life change on her ex, Brandon Barash. The critic declared, “I think Brandon moved there and she didn’t want Harper to miss her daddy. So she decided to move there as well and has other family.”
Storms chimed in to set the record straight. “Brandon and I actually had a conversation about moving as a co-parenting unit mid January. It was the first time the idea was voiced. Neither of us would ever have moved without Harper’s other parent onboard for the move as well.”
The Days of Our Lives alum and Storms were married for three years before divorcing in 2016. They have worked hard to have a healthy co-parenting relationship.
Barash married Isabella Devoto in 2022. The couple welcomed son Joaquin a year later. Storms revealed on Maurice Benard’s State of Mind that she has a close relationship with Barash and his new wife, creating a beautiful, blended family for Harper.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
