For those who don’t know, March is Endometriosis Awareness Month and General Hospital viewers have been watching as Molly has been struggling with the disease. Kate Mansi (Kristina) recently revealed how her diagnosis came after undergoing a lifesaving surgery and as the actress continues to manage her own journey with endometriosis, today marks a very special day for her.
Last week, we alerted fans that the actress would be directing the Monday, March 16, episode, where Molly will open up to Cody about her health, and this isn’t the first time Mansi has directed for the ABC soap. Back on November 18 of last year, she went behind the camera and one of her castmates had a lot to say about her 2025 directorial debut… In January, while talking to Laura Wright about the one thing she won’t let Carly say, the actress shared with Soaps.com. “Kate did an incredible job. She worked so hard. She was such a little badass director on set.”
Wright went on to recall how Mansi was right there when anyone had a question and how amazing she was. “We’ve had a lot of new directors recently on the set, all trying their turn and their time at daytime and multicamera work,” she explained then went on to state, “And I have to say, Kate was one of the best. I think it comes naturally for soap actors, because you know. And some of the people who’ve [done it] haven’t been in the soap world.”
In watching Mansi work, Wright could tell that she “got it” and “understood the actors’ questions” and “was very open to Frank [Valentini] walking up if she had a question or a cameraman or the stage manager.” Simply put, “She held her own,” Wright added. “And it was great.” And these compliments must certainly mean a lot to Mansi… Even though she loves Wright as a friend and coworker, the actress admitted Wright was the actor she was most intimidated to direct.
So, fans, be sure to tune in to see Mansi’s work unfold once again.
