Our whole universe is in a hot, tense state right now. Thankfully, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki have reunited to give us something to smile about.
Six years after The Big Bang Theory’s 2019 series finale, TV’s erstwhile Leonard and Penny Hofstadter are together again in a commercial for Royal Kingdom. In the 60-second ad, Cuoco is looking forward to a good ol’ fashion game night, but Galecki suggests they ditch their board games and play the aforementioned mobile game.
He and Cuoco proceed to chuck all their board games out the window, along with their credit cards (since the game is free), their internet router (since it doesn’t require WiFi) and their TV (since the game is ad-free). And it was at this point that we realized Sheldon Cooper would be hyperventilating at the sight of all of their belongings getting tossed out on the lawn.
Cuoco and Galecki shared the commercial on their respective Instagram accounts Tuesday, with Cuoco writing: “This was so fun to shoot! Back together with my buddy JG.”
In response, Galecki said: “I adored this day with you, my dear. XO!” Watch the commercial below:
The Royal Kingdom ad marks Galecki’s first acting gig since 2019. Following the end of Big Bang, he reprised his star-making role as David Healy in a pair of Conners Season 2 episodes — the last of which aired that October. Since then, his sole credit is the scripted podcast series “The Cinnamon Bear: A Holiday Adventure,” which was released in 2021.
Cuoco, meanwhile, went on to star in Max’s The Flight Attendant and Peacock’s Based on a True Story, is currently attached to Kansas City Star, an HBO comedy from the Emmy-winning team behind Max’s Hacks, and Vanished, a mystery thriller co-starring Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones & the Six). She recently reunited in New York City with fellow former co-star Jim Parsons; you can see that photo here.
