Lights, Camera, Action: ‘Law & Order: SVU’ filming in Nyack this week
Film crews will be present in Nyack this week to shoot one of America’s most watched TV shows.
The Town of Clarkstown said film crews are shooting NBC’s Emmy award-winning and binge-watch classic “Law & Order: SVU” through April 10 on Glenbrook Road in Upper Nyack.
“Law & Order: SVU” is celebrating 25 years on air in 2024. The show first aired in 1999 and quickly became one of the most watched television shows in history. It follows NYPD Special Victims Unit Captain Olivia Benson (played by Mariska Hargitay), Sergeant Fin Tutuola (played by Ice-T) and other SVU detectives and prosecutors who pursue suspects in sex-based crimes.
“SVU,” a spin-off of the crime procedural “Law & Order,” which first aired in 1990, is now the longest-running primetime live-action series with 25 seasons and 546 episodes.
“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” season 25 premiered in January.

Town residents may not even see the shoot, since the show is being filmed at a private home on Glenbrook Road, a few miles away from downtown Nyack.
But this isn’t the first time Nyack has taken part in movie magic. In March, Nyack was turned into Burlington, Vermont as part of the set for the new Netflix show “The Life List.”
Other shows and movies filmed in the village over the years include “John Wick,” “Labyrinth,” the 2004 remake of “The Manchurian Candidate,” and “FBI: Most Wanted,” which was recently filmed in Pearl River and North Castle in March.
