LINDA HUNT plays strict Operations Manager Hetty Lange in NCIS Los Angeles. She has returned to reprise her role for season 12 but scenes featuring the beloved star are sadly few and far between.
Linda Hunt has been in NCIS Los Angeles since it started in September 2009. Now, 12 years on, the 75-year-old continues to play a part on the CBS series but due to the pandemic, Hunt is being kept away from the rest of the cast for health reasons. Nevertheless, Hetty is still popping up from time to time so she remains a key part of the team.
The NCIS LA actress is married to retired therapist Karen Kline.
The couple have been living together since 1987 so have been in a relationship for around 33 years.
As this is just when they moved in, Hunt and Kline have most likely been a couple for a little longer than this.
Despite being in such a long-term relationship the couple only got married in 2008 and would be celebrating their 12th anniversary this year.
Hunt rarely gives interviews and it isn’t often when her and wife Kline talk about one another in public.
So there are still very few details about how they first met.
However, speaking to CBS Sunday Morning, Kline did briefly explain her initial thoughts of Hunt.
She joked: “I was kind of struck [by] Linda’s corduroys.”
Kline is six years younger than the NCIS LA actress which she often teases her about, saying how she “forgive[s]her daily”
Does NCIS LA Hetty Lange star Linda Hunt have any children?
While Hunt and Kline have been together for many years, they have no children together.
Neither of them were married prior to starting their relationship so they also don’t have children from any previous marriage.
Hunt does have an older sister called Marcia but it is unclear if she had children herself which would make the actress an aunt.
Instead, back in 2008 when they got married, Hunt and Kline adopted three dogs from Best Friends Animal Society
Along with their pets, the married couple live in a glamorous bungalow in Hollywood.
In a rare interview, Hunt and Kline allowed the Los Angeles Times to step into their home for an article which was published in 2014.
Hunt said: “This house has whimsy and a special kind of elegance. It’s welcoming.
“I often go to the guesthouse to practice lines [for NCIS LA] and look at the window of the sunroom and think how pretty it is.”
NCIS Los Angeles returned at the end of 2020 for season 12 on CBS with Hetty nowhere in sight as she has appointed Nell Jones (Renee Felice Smith) to take over as temporary Operations Manager.
Series 12 is going to be shorter than previous seasons though with just 18 episodes
This is in comparison to the majority of past series which consisted of 24 instalments.
The season’s downsize is a result of the coronavirus pandemic which delayed filming for NCIS LA, as well as sister shows NCIS and NCIS New Orleans which will also be shorter.
