Both Novak and Frost are charmers who turn eyes, so the chemistry was instantly explosive, and Chihards have delighted in watching their love story unfurl.

From Gaffney love triangles to Firehouse 51 hold-backs, Novak and Frost’s will-they-won’t-they has finally reached a breaking point, putting an official end to a potential love triangle at Firehouse 51.

Frost and Lizzy just had their first hook up

After weeks of Lizzy playing hard to get with the charming doctor, the pair finally went on their first date at the end of Med Season 11’s “Frost on Fire,” which only continued to heat up as One Chicago Wednesdays continued with Chicago Fire Season 13’s “Carry a Torch.” After taking Lizzy out on a date to Navy Pier, she pitched a better idea, which was to head back home for a steamy night together.

After weeks of waiting for the moment, Novak and Frost finally took the next step, even if it meant that a disheveled Novak was late for her next shift at Firehouse 51.

The swoons didn’t end there, either. Frost reconnected with Novak at the station after being called in to help with a paramedic training simulation, and the pair struggled to hold back their flirtatious glances during the entire session.

Chicago Fire's Lizzy and Chicago Med's Frost Officially Hook Up

Novak is officially over Vasquez on Chicago Fire

Novak’s breakthrough with Frost has seemingly snuffed out her previous crush on Firehouse 51 newcomer Sal Vasquez (Brandon Larracuente). The charming paramedic is a bubbly flirt who catches many eyes, but it didn’t take long for Novak to begin noticing her paramedic pal Violet (Hanako Greensmith) was developing feelings for Vasquez, as well.

As some Chihards grew worried about a mutual crush complicating their friendship, NBC Insider connected with Chicago Fire producer Reza Tabrizi about the potential love “square” between Novak, Frost, Violet, and Vasquez.

“We really like when we can have characters have storylines across the shows… As far as Frost coming into the picture for Novak, considering, obviously, the feelings she had for Vasquez, that dynamic is gonna be interesting to explore,” Tabrizi told NBC Insider. “The way that Vasquez and Violet naturally ended up getting close without it being a plan…The triangle and the forepoint are definitely gonna be interesting to explore, and, as we always do, there’s definitely gonna be turns and twists.”

After a successful training module with Frost, Novak opened up to Violet about the “hot doctor” she hooked up with the night prior, admitting that she’d been talking to the Gaffney hottie for quite some time. This news came as a relief to Violet, who was under the impression that Lizzy still had the hots for Vasquez.

As Violet’s bond with Vasquez intensifies in Season 13, it seems like she’d now have clearance from Lizzy to explore any potential feelings as she moves full speed ahead with Frost.

Novak and Frost are done playing hard-to-get

After confirming that they were officially on different romantic pages, Lizzy continued opening up about her exciting new fling with Frost. Aware that she was dating a “player” type, Novak was still tempted to play illusive, lest she suffer the heartbreaking consequences of not out-playing him.

Despite her efforts, Novak’s ice queen routine didn’t work out. While enjoying a drink with Violet at Molly’s, a distracted Novak suddenly left to hook up with Frost.

“What happened to playing hard to get?” Violet asked.

“Eh, changed my mind on that one real quick,” Novak shrugged. “Figured I’d try really easy to get, instead.”

Violet asked Novak how she was going to send that message, learning that the string of salacious emojis Novak sent Frost would likely do the trick.
