HIGH Potential’s Season 2 return has finally been revealed after the show’s long hiatus.
Fans were worried that the new ABC series might not return, as it’s been months since the first half of Season 2 ended.
The crime drama premiered in September 2024 on ABC, and new episodes streamed the following day on Hulu.
It follows actress Kaitlin Olson’s character, Morgan, who is a cleaning lady turned police consultant, after her impressive detective skills and eye for tracking down serial killers caught the attention of the department.
She was paired with seasoned detective Karadec, played by Daniel Sunjata, and they became an unstoppable duo.
The midseason finale dropped on February 11, with a nail-biting cliffhanger that Morgan’s ex-husband, Roman, who has been missing for years and assumed by many to be dead, is still alive.
The storyline of Morgan searching for her children’s father after his sudden disappearance was introduced earlier in the series, and she enlisted the help of her new partner, Karadec, to aid her in uncovering his whereabouts.
Fans will soon find out how the mystery unfolds, as it was announced that the second half of Season 2 of High Potential premieres on Tuesday, January 6, at 9:00 p.m. EST.

‘SO ANNOYING’
Viewers expressed their feelings about the long wait for new episodes on social media.
“Wdym there’s no high potential until nxt year?” one person wrote on X.
“High Potential on a break and not returning until January 6th. That’s so annoying,” said another.
“This show has barely been on for a month, and now it’s going on hiatus for two months?” complained a third.
“High Potential not returning till January 6 is blowing me,” a fifth reacted.
WHAT’S TO COME
TVLine previously reported that the series won’t pick up immediately where it left off, but rather after a bit of time has passed.
In other words, Morgan won’t still be stuck in a hotel room with potential thief and murderer Rhys, portrayed by Aidan Turner, which was another gripping ending of the finale.
Instead, fans will get some “interesting backfill about what happened in that hotel room in the time between getting that call and getting to a crime scene,” thanks to a “clever little device.”
“Karadec has some questions for her, so we start with a really fun, juicy scene at the top of the next one,” showrunner Todd Harthan teased to the outlet.
The cast of High Potential also includes Steve Howey, Amirah J, Judy Reyes, Deniz Akdeniz, Javicia Leslie, and Taran Killam.
