Love in the Big Apple: Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple Start Their Life Together at Last md18

Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos and her fiancé, Chock Chapple, are taking the next step in their engagement.

“We had no idea how hard it was to rent a place in New York and how busy we were going to be,” Joan, 62, exclusively told Us Weekly of her and Chock’s plans to “finally” move in together, while attending iHeartRadio’s 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball on Friday, December 5.

She added, “We decided that we just wanted to be there to start the whole month of December because it’s just so magical in New York City.”

Joan further revealed that she is relocating from her native Maryland with “all [her] stuff” on Monday, December 8.

“[Chock is] joining me on Thursday,” Joan explained to Us. “I have a couple of friends who are coming to help me move in, and then we’re going to be there ‘till January 7. Maybe we’ll find a place.”

Joan and Chock, 62, found love on the inaugural season of ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette in 2024, culminating in a romantic beachside proposal. The pair, however, have taken their time walking down the aisle — and moving in together. (While Joan hails from Maryland, Chock is based in Kansas.)

Coupled with the pair’s slow pace, fans have questioned their relationship status based on a lack of joint Instagram photos.

“Isn’t that crazy? If I don’t post, then they’re like, ‘They broke up,’” Joan quipped to Us on the red carpet at California’s Intuit Dome, clapping back at the rumors. “I feel the pressure sometimes, but I do feel like Chock and I are so comfortable that I’ve kind of gotten out of the habit of posting about us.”

She continued, “I realized, in the beginning, that it was really important [to keep] reaffirming to people that we were still good, but I haven’t been as good [at sharing updates]. When I’m not good, then the rumors start flying that we broke up, and we’re not breaking up.”

Joan stressed that she and Chock are “just comfortable” living their lives off of social media, oftentimes forgetting to post anything at all.

“It’s so weird that they care about what I post. I’m eternally shocked about that,” Joan further mused of fan attention on her social media uploads in the first place. “I start out with recipes, and I kind of get that. I’m always looking for a good recipe, but then they’re like, ‘Oh we want to see your outfits.’ Really, you want to know what I wear? I’m definitely not on the fashion front, [but] I’m very flattered that people like to hear what I have to say.”

Before Joan packs up for New York and starts her next chapter with Chock, she jetted out west to attend iHeartRadio’s annual Jingle Ball concert.

“This is the beginning of my holiday season,” Joan said. “I love coming here with all the lights and all the stars and everybody has great outfits on. I get to meet my Bachelor friends. There’s always a big crew of us here, so I love it. This is so fun!”
