Maisie Williams is chiming in on her surprising sex scene in last week’s Game of Throne episode
Maisie Williams feels your pain.
The internet was set ablaze after little Arya Stark had sex on Sunday night’s episode of Game of Thrones — and now Williams herself is chiming in. The actress joked about how awkward it was to have her entire family watch the intimate on-screen moment.
“If u feel uncomfortable just know that my mother and my step dad and my 2 sisters and my 4 brothers have all probably watched this too ahahakillmeehehe,” she tweeted Tuesday.
Williams, now 22, was just 12 years old when she filmed the pilot for season 1, so viewers have watched her grow up.
The scene unfolded at the very end of the episode, as those fighting for the North gathered at Winterfell, preparing to wage war against the Night King and his army of the dead. Arya slept with longtime crush Gendry (Joe Dempsie) after he forged a custom dragonglass weapon for her.
It’s a pairing fans have been rooting for for years, especially given how their coupling would unite the Stark and Baratheon houses as their fathers had once hoped. (Gendry is the bastard son of late King Robert.)
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Williams admitted that when she first read the script for the episode, she thought the scene was added as a joke.
“At first, I thought it was a prank,” she said. “I was like, ‘Yo, good one.’ And [the showrunners were] like, ‘No, we haven’t done that this year.’ Oh f—!”
