Chicago Med is losing another doctor when season 10 premieres — Dr. Crockett Marcel, which is a shame after the events of the season 9 finale. The NBC medical drama TV series, created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead, has lost many cast members over the course of its (soon-to-be) 10-season run, including most of its original stars (only three remain — S. Epatha Merkerson as Sharon Goodwin, Oliver Platt as Dr. Daniel Charles, and Marlyne Barrett as Maggie Lockwood). Now, fans will have to say goodbye to Marcel since Dominic Rains is leaving Chicago Med ahead of the season 10 premiere.
Chicago Med season 10 premieres on Wednesday, September 25, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
It’s unclear why Rains is exiting Chicago Med, but he’s not expected to return as a series regular for season 10. So, Marcel won’t appear during the premiere, meaning his absence will have to be explained without him on the screen. Even though Rains wasn’t an original Chicago Med cast member, he was an integral part of the show, and it will be quite difficult to accept Marcel’s exit when the time comes.
