Marcus Scribner Joins ‘Boston Blue,’ the Upcoming Spinoff of ‘Blue Bloods’ (Exclusive)

Marcus Scribner has joined the cast of “Boston Blue,” CBS‘ upcoming spinoff of “Blue Bloods,” as a series regular. He will play Jonah Silver.

Per an official character description, “Jonah is the youngest member of the Silver family and is in law enforcement like his mother and sisters — each of whom are formidable in their own ways. Always the cool kid growing up, Jonah carries himself with confidence and swagger in all situations, so he’s naturally frustrated at being a rookie cop on the sidelines of the city’s biggest investigations.”

The Silver family also includes Jonah’s mother, district attorney Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben); his grandfather, reverend Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson); his sister, detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green); and his stepsister, Sarah (Maggie Lawson). Sarah joined the family when Mae married her father, Ben Silver, when she was a teenager. Ben is no longer alive.

“Boston Blue” also stars Donnie Wahlberg, who reprises his “Blue Bloods” role, Danny Reagan. The series follows Danny as he leaves New York to take a job with the Boston Police Department, where he is partnered with Lena.

Scribner is best known for playing Junior in “Black-ish,” which ran on ABC for eight seasons from 2014 to 2022 and earned him two NAACP Image Awards. He later starred in the fifth and sixth seasons of the Freeform spinoff “Grown-ish.” His other credits include the films “How to Blow Up a Pipeline” (2023), “Along for the Ride” (2022) and “Farewell Amor” (2020).

He is repped by CAA, Artists First and Nina Shaw and Gordon Bobb.

“Boston Blue” will premiere on CBS this fall and is produced by CBS Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television. Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis serve as showrunners and executive producers, while Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed and Wahlberg also executive produce. The series will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
