Captain Olivia Benson is ‘Fighting crime and looking fine’ in Season 26.
Mariska Hargitay is ready for her close-up–and her next season as Captain Olivia Benson.
On Wednesday, the official NBC Law & Order Instagram account shared a joint post with Hargitay, teasing the series’ upcoming Season 26 premiere of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit with two new photos of her in character.
The set of snaps, captioned “Captain Benson reporting for duty. 🫡,” show the leading lady of the long-running NBC police procedural posing on the sidewalk before what appears to be a sectioned-off stretch of street, wearing a black leather blazer, a black v-neck tee and black jeans. Her chic all-black look is accented by a voluminous blowout, a pinkish-neutral lip shade, a smoky eye and gold earrings.
In the first image, Hargitay, 60, flashes the NYPD badge on her belt at the camera, striking a rather serious pose. The second snap is slightly more candid, as the award-winning actress looked away from the photographer and let the wind blow through her lightly tousled brunette waves.
The star’s followers were fans of both, hyping her up in the comments of the Sept. 18 upload.
“captain benson serving as always 👏🏻,” one top-liked comment read.
“Icon, Legend, BOSS. ❤️🔥,” another gushed.
“Fighting crime and looking fine 😋,” a third quipped.
Someone else joked: “these photos are especially heinous. 😮💨🔥.”
Not too long ago, Hargitay shared some behind-the-scenes photos from her on-set reunion with Kelli Giddish, who is reported to be joining the squad for some cases as her beloved character Amanda Rollins this season.
