Four years after retiring from NCIS, Mark Harmon is ready to return to active duty, an insider reveals.
The actor, 74, played Leroy Jethro Gibbs for 18 years on the naval cop series before leaving in 2021. He recently reprised the role in a guest appearance.
“It made him realize how much he misses being in front of the camera,” says an insider. “He had such a wonderful time being back on set with everyone that he wants to do more acting and has even started looking at projects outside the NCIS universe. He wants to stretch himself.”
Longtime wife Pam Dawber, 74, is thrilled. “She’s the first to tell you she’s glad he’s getting out of the house again,” says the insider. “Mark sits at home bored out of his mind.”
