Entert.online has an exclusive clip from the next episode of MasterChef, which will see the remaining contestants making a gourmet fish dish using only ingredients found at a gas station. MasterChef season 12 is currently airing, and this season is titled MasterChef: Back to Win, an exciting all-stars installment that features returning contestants from past seasons. The judges–Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich–invited contestants back from previous seasons to audition for a spot in the kitchen. The judges only gave out aprons to the top 20 all-star cooks, and each week they’ve faced grueling challenges, with only the top 10 currently remaining.
The reality show MasterChef first premiered on FOX in 2010 as a competition designed to give amateur home cooks the chance to live out their culinary dreams and fight for $250,000, a cookbook deal and the MasterChef trophy. Gordon serves as executive producer on MasterChef and hosts and judges the show. Joe was a judge for the first five seasons and then left, but he returned in season 9. Aarón has been judging since MasterChef season 8. MasterChef: Back to Win has featured previous winners coming back to judge the contestants as well as grueling team challenges that have pushed the cooks to their limits. Every week, the cook who performs the best in a challenge wins the immunity pin, which keeps them safe from the following week’s elimination.
In an exclusive clip from the next episode of MasterChef, Gordon shows the 10 remaining cooks how to create a gourmet fish dish using only gas station ingredients. The MasterChef contestants have to figure out how to make a sophisticated dish utilizing different gas station ingredients, including pretzels, candy and gummy bears. Gordon gives a demonstration to the contestants, cooking a beautiful crusted fish dish using chips, rice and dill pickles. The cooks intently watch as Gordon goes through the step-by-step process of turning gas station ingredients into an elevated dish. Check out the full YouTube clip below, provided by FOX:
In the previous week’s challenge, which saw the cooks creating elevated versions of takeout dishes, Derrick Fox, MasterChef season 6 runner-up, was the best and earned an immunity pin, so he is safe from the gas station ingredients challenge. The nine other cooks have a difficult task ahead of them, as Gordon, Aarón and Joe are judging each dish, and one contestant will see their Back to Win journey come to an end. As Gordon says in the clip, the secret to any great chef is “elevation.”
On MasterChef: Back to Win, the cooks have endured some of the most difficult challenges in the show’s history. The expectations from the MasterChef judges have never been higher, considering all the cooks have competed before and aren’t amateurs. It’s been an entertaining season for MasterChef viewers as fan-favorites from years past get a second chance to battle it out to win the MasterChef grand prize. With the season halfway over, it will be exciting to see what MasterChef has in store for the top 10 contestants.
MasterChef airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
