
Matt Lauria has been cast as the co-lead in the upcoming series Sheriff Country opposite Morena Baccarin.
The show is expected to debut in the 2025-2026 season on CBS and is a spinoff of the hit show Fire Country.
Here’s a synopsis of the series: “Sheriff Country follows straight-shooting Sheriff Mickey Fox (Baccarin), the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone, who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.”
Matt‘s casting was announced on Monday (April 28) and his character has been revealed!
Variety reports he will “play Boone, Mickey’s longtime partner who is described as a ‘smart, tough and capable deputy’ with a different style of law enforcement, being from Oakland.”
Matt is best known for starring in shows like Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, CSI: Vegas, and Outer Range.
