Max Thieriot Teases a “Reinvigorated” Bode Ahead of ‘Fire Country’ Season 3
The CBS drama airs new episodes this October, and the actor shared his hope for his character’s future.
Fire Country season 3 is just two months away from premiering, but Max Thieriot already has ideas about what’s to come for him and his well-loved character Bode Leone.
The hit CBS drama is set to air new episodes starting Friday, October 18 at 9 p.m. ET, and fans are excited to see what happens to Bode after an eventful end to season 2. Viewers watched the inmate at Three Rock heroically receive a “good conduct credit” ahead of the finale, as a result of saving his father in a dangerous campaign fire in northern California. This leads to Bode finishing his five-year prison sentence early, leaving him struggling to figure out what he wants to do now that he’s free.
As Max revealed to Good Housekeeping during an exclusive interview in May, Fire Country season 3 will explore more of Bode’s journey as he figures out who he is in the world outside of being incarcerated.
“I think we really leave Bode at a big turning point in his character,” Max said at the time. “Due to everything that we’ve been seeing, I think we leave him off sort of seeing him reinvigorated. You really feel like he’s trying to put things behind him and he’s really trying to set a path.”

While viewers watched Bode initially try a stint at working in construction, they witnessed him eventually discovering his first love will always be firefighting. What’s more, folks want to know more about Bode’s love life in season 3, as they were left on a cliffhanger of his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Perez (Stephanie Arcila) potentially saying “I do” to her fiancé Diego Moreno (Rafael de la Fuente) at the altar.
Although Max couldn’t give away all the details ahead of the procedural drama’s new season (trust us, we tried!), he did share how grateful he is to continue Bode’s story with viewers as the show returns for an all-new installment.
“It was honestly really rewarding for me to get to hear when we have these early pickups and know about the season,” he added. “The biggest thing the viewers get is just knowing that we have another season. We’re coming back, we keep grinding, and we keep doing it. So, it’s exciting and I’m excited to get to continue to tell all these stories and work with an amazing team.”
Well, if this doesn’t leave us all fired up for what’s next!
