Here’s where to watch the top nine best movies and shows the weekend of May 24-26
It’s Memorial Day weekend, and you know what that means (for us at least): the start of the summer box office is officially here!
This weekend, May 24-26, theaters are starting off the best season with a huge bang as Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible comes to an end. But the blockbusters don’t just stop there, as another highly anticipated family movie is coming to theaters as well.
Want to sink into your couch and stay there for the next 72 hours? Valid: streaming has some exciting new options debuting this weekend as well, including a super-bingable new Netflix show that only has five juicy episodes.
And there’s more! Here’s a list of the nine best new movies and shows to watch this weekend and where to stream them.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
Nearly 30 years after the first movie came out, the Mission: Impossible franchise is officially coming to an end (or so they say. Spinoff, anyone?).
The series’ final chapter comes in The Final Reckoning, a thrilling action movie complete with Cruise’s classic mind-bending stunts — including dangling from a helicopter with his two bare hands.
Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning releases in theaters on May 23.
Lilo & Stitch
Insert eyes filling up with tears emoji because Lilo & Stitch is getting the live-action treatment and everything about it is the cutest and most heartwarming thing ever!
Starring Maia Kealoha in her debut role as Lilo, the movie brings the beloved duo to life as Stitch (who is again voiced by Chris Sanders) is up to his usual tricks and tomfoolery as a genetically engineered blue alien adopted by Lilo.
Lilo & Stitch releases in theaters on May 23.
Sirens
We love a cult-like rich lady, sibling drama and a ridiculously opulent and gorgeous setting — and we know you do too (Perfect Couple hive, rise!). So, to that end, Netflix brings us Sirens: a tale of sisters who are at odds as the younger of the two is obsessed with her creepy boss and the older is just not having it.
Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock star in Netflix’s limited series opposite Julianne Moore, who plays Michaela, the aforementioned culty boss. Packed with mystery and a stunning setting, Sirens is the perfect binge for those looking to dive right into summer vibes.
Watch Sirens on Netflix.
Nine Perfect Strangers season 2
Nicole Kidman continues to stay extremely employed as she stars in season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers, which sees nine new people head over to her character Masha’s unhinged wellness retreat. Little do they know what the nefariousness Masha likes to get up to …
Instead of the relaxing and warm getaway in California, Masha takes these clueless nine wellness junkies to the brutal peaks of the snowy Austrian Alps — and she has even more surprises in store.
Watch season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers on Hulu.
UNTOLD: The Fall of Favre
Brett Favre may be an iconic football player, but his public image has long been plagued by controversy.
From his infamous beef with former New York Jets star Mark Gastineau to his involvement in one of the biggest public fraud cases in history, UNTOLD: The Fall of Favre explores it all.

Sherri Papini: Caught in the Lie
So, somehow, there’s even more to the Sherri Papini story — and she’s ready to share her side. Years after Papini was sentenced to 18 months in prison for lying about being abducted, the disgraced mother is speaking out for the first time in ID’s Sherri Papini: Caught in a Lie.
Now, she claims she made up the abduction because she was hiding a secret affair from her husband, Keith Papini, and was afraid of him getting violent if he found out.
Watch Sherri Papini: Caught in a Lie on Max on May 26.
Friendship
This is a very weird comedy. And by weird, we mean you’re going to be hiding behind your hands cringing the entire nearly 2-hour runtime — and it’ll be worth it.
Tim Robinson stars as Craig, a middle-aged man lacking any male friends. So when Paul Rudd’s cool guy Austin comes along and expresses interest in Craig, he’s ecstatic. But there’s one problem: he (literally) doesn’t know how to act.
Friendship widely releases in theaters on May 23.
Fountain of Youth
Natalie Portman and John Krasinski star as estranged siblings in Fountain of Youth, which is honestly exactly what it sounds like: a quest to find, well, the fountain of youth.
When a mysterious billionaire named Owen Carver (Domhnall Gleeson) funds their mission, the brother-sister duo set their sights on accomplishing their goal, only to discover there’s an ulterior motive at play.
Watch Fountain of Youth on AppleTV+ on May 23.
FBI shows season finales
Two of CBS’ three FBI shows — FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted — aired their series finales this week. While the original FBI will receive another season, the spinoffs have come to an end due to finances, Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, told Deadline.
FBI season 8 will be back in the fall of 2025, but before then, catch up on the three season finales, which are now streaming.
