Maya’s ‘History’ and a ‘Happy’ Future for Maya & Jack in ‘Station 19’ Season 3, Teases Danielle Savre

Station 19 kicked off its third season with a major crossover event with Grey’s Anatomy on January 23, 2020. In an exclusive interview with HollywoodLife, Danielle Savre, who plays Maya Bishop, shared exciting insights into what fans can expect from her character in season 3.

Danielle revealed that Maya’s backstory will be explored more deeply this season. “I think Maya’s history is going to be really revealed this season — like big-time history,” she explained. Maya’s struggles with relationships, including fears of commitment, will be examined, as well as the state of her relationship with Jack. Danielle teased that Maya and Jack are in a good place when the season begins: “They’re happy. They’re in a really good place,” she said, while hinting at the possibility of future complications.Watch Station 19 | Prime Video

Maya and Jack’s relationship took many by surprise in season 2, and though things appear stable now, the question remains as to how long their happiness will last. Danielle also noted that Maya’s competitive nature as an Olympic athlete hasn’t been fully explored yet, and this aspect of her character will likely impact her personal relationships, particularly with her best friend, Andy. Despite their bond, Maya’s “tunnel vision” and extreme focus could cause tension between the two friends as the season progresses.

Catch Station 19 on Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC for more drama and surprises.
