The wedding between Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) is the highlight of Virgin River season 6, which premiered on Dec. 19.
“You find two people at the beginning of the series [who] are quite broken, and they’re able to come together and make each other whole,” Breckenridge told Good Day NWA. “The relationship is inspiring to me.”
Off-screen, the actress has an equally admirable relationship with her husband of nine years, musician Casey Hooper. Meanwhile, Henderson keeps his romantic life under wraps.
Still, in July 2022, Breckenridge told Glamour that her costar got surprisingly “teary-eyed” while the pair were shooting the proposal scene in season 5.
“It was just a really emotional moment,” Henderson said in a separate interview with the outlet, before hinting that he’d like to get down on one knee someday. “I hope when I propose, I know what the answer’s going to be.”

Alexandra Breckenridge’s Virgin River character, Mel Monroe, is in love with Jack Sheridan, but in real life, the actress has been married for nearly a decade.
Breckenridge and musician Casey Hooper tied the knot in 2015 after being introduced by Katy Perry at a 2012 Grammys afterparty. The couple have since welcomed two children: son Jack in 2016 and daughter Billie in 2017.
A year later, Breckenridge praised Hooper during an interview with Good Housekeeping, calling him an “incredible” husband and father.
“I’m a lucky girl,” she added.
